Editorial policy

We aim to make map and navigation subjects accurate, understandable and worth a reader's time. We explain the limits of an example, distinguish general principles from location-specific details and revise pages when a meaningful error is brought to our attention.

Accuracy and clarity

We check names, definitions and descriptions against reliable reference material before publication. When a subject is complex, we say so rather than flattening the distinctions. We do not present a general explanation as current route information or local access guidance.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a favourable mention for a product or partner. Where a relationship could affect how a piece is understood, we disclose it clearly alongside the relevant material.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or a confusing passage, use the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review correction requests and update material when warranted; substantial changes are explained in the article.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or collaborative material is clearly identified as such and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; image captions or credits will identify them where relevant, and illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
